The portable iPhone document scanner was designed by co-op student Kyle Koch, who preferred having digital pictures instead of handwritten notes of all school assignments. Prior to the development of this unique idea, Kyle would manually snap pictures of class assignments but found that the photos were of poor quality due to an unsteady hand.
Hence from this basic need, the iPhone document scanner was born. The advantages of using the iPhone as a custom scanner were tremendous as it allowed for sharing of documents through email, twitter as well as through social sites such as Facebook. To add to this, when the scanner is combined with Evernote software, the iPhone is converted into a portable document server that can be used to store and sync digital documents.
The iPhone document scanner measures 15.5-inches in length, 9.5-inches wide and 15-inches tall. Koch has turned his unique idea into a side business as these handmade accessories are available for $45 plus shipping.
