For a while, there was little news about the rumored iPad mini, but these days, leaks and individual sources seem to be painting a very vivid picture about the iOS tablet which is said to be Apple’s response to the cheap Android tablets that are entering the market.
The latest bit of information about this rumored Apple device provides quite a bit of information about its form factor. Citing sources within China, it’s believed that the mini iPad will have a display screen that is 7.85-inches in size and it will also be virtually the same thickness as the 4th generation iPod touch. What this means is that the iPad Mini will measure approximately 7.2 mm in thickness. Compared to the Android powered Google Nexus 7 tablet, the iPad mini will be approximately the same height, but it will be slightly wider.
There is also the potential that Apple will come out with a 3G model of the device, but it will be up to the individual mobile carriers to decide if they want to carry the model. However, when you look at the success that Apple has had with many of their products, you would think that a good number of carriers will be anxious to offer their customers a 3G iPad mini if they want one.
