Many Apple iPod or iPhone owners ultimately end up buying a separate docking station for their iOS device because of the versatility that these units can provide. If you’re one of those that have been thinking of doing the same, there is an opportunity to pick one up that does more then just recharge your Apple device.
The new dock is from Iomega and is called the SuperHero dock. It has the ability to backup your pictures as well as your contact information onto a separate SD card. The device is compatible with the iPhone 3GS and comes bundled with a software package that will activate once a device has been docked. Although the SuperHero app is capable of backing up pictures and contacts, it is unfortunately unable to also backup music files or any apps because of API restrictions that are in place.
The dock does sell for $69.99 and includes a 4GB SDHC card.
