iLane is a device that connects to your Blackberry via bluetooth. Once connected, using a Bluetooth headset, you can use voice commands to have your Blackberry automatically read your personal email and news out loud.

This phone gadget will also permit the operator to respond to email as well as place phone calls using nothing but voice commands.

Voice recognition technology for phones has been around for a while, but iLane improves on the process in a few ways. For instance, you don’t have to train the software in order for it to work and the system allows for interruption while it is speaking.

There are a few voice commands that you will need to learn but should you forget them, iLane does offer an auto prompt feature.

Currently, you can only buy the iLane for the Blackberry at a cost of $400 USD plus a monthly charge of $7. However, developers are looking to make this unit compatible with other model phones as well.
