Here’s an interesting conceptual gadget that future soldiers may wear one day. IBM has submitted a patent for military body armor known as “Bionic Body Armor”. The new armor will give the user the ability to dodge bullets similar to what Neo did in the movie The Matrix.
The concept behind this military technology is the device would have built in sensors that would scan the surrounding area for incoming projectiles. When one is detected, the unit would send a muscle shock to the wearer, causing a reflexive movement away from the bullet.
It remains to be seen just how far this concept gadget progresses and what the final cost would be for this body armor, but were it to work, it could have many uses on the battlefields of tomorrow and in our local police force.
