Back of May 12th, Sprint held a preview party for their HTC Evo 4G handset during which the handset received some strong reviews.
Last week, the Android handset went on sale and it did not fail to deliver. In fact, Sprint has confirmed that the Evo 4G has been their best seller on opening day, beating out the Palm Pre and the Samsung Instinct. Unfortunately, Sprint did not reveal any specific numbers, so we can’t compare their sales figures to those achieved by other popular handsets like the iPhone, but it is probably a safe bet to assume that this will be one of the more successful Android smartphones to reach the market.
The HTC Evo 4G can be purchased through Sprint for $199 with a two year service contract. We do have to say congratulations to Sprint for this accomplishment, but it may be tough for them to maintain strong sales this week with WWDC and the imminent iPhone 4G.
