Earlier today, Sprint and HTC made available an OTA software update for the Evo 4G smartphone. The new release is version 1.47.651.1 and is packaged at 21.43MB in size. The new software release will bring some bug fixes, enhanced WiFi performance, improvements to Exchange Active Sync and better battery performance by way of addressing a Facebook synchronization issue.
As the download package is small in size, it is estimated that it can be downloaded in a short period of time. The installation will also take just a few minutes to apply and includes an automatic power cycle. If you want to obtain the update, you can do so by going to Settings=>System Update=>HTC Update.
One word of warning posted on the Sprint site is rooted devices will not receive the update and is the reason why they void the warranty.
