With all the news about the JooJoo and the Apple iSlate tablet going around, we knew it wasn’t likely Google was going to be left behind. Recently leaked information says that HTC and Google have been working for the past year and a half to create its own tablet, based on the Google Chrome OS. Cool.
Of course details are still scant at this point, but we do know it’s no surprise Google chose to partner with HTC. They have worked on several successful projects in the past, such as the Google Nexus One. They’ve apparently been working on several tablet models in the past, testing whether it would work better on a Chrome or Android OS platform.
It’s still difficult to compare the three tablets at this point, especially since no one but the guys at Apple know whether or not the iSlate tablet really exists. What we can ascertain is that the Google Chrome OS tablet will be quite similar to the JooJoo, based on our understanding on how the Chrome OS works.
Naturally, that isn’t saying the Google Chrome OS tablet won’t be coming out with a few surprises of its own. With that, we’ll be waiting all year to see when it and its rivals make their debut.
