This giant arcade joystick is for extreme gamers that want to bring the real arcade game like experience home. The joystick is called the Hori Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX and will be available in Japan next month.
At the time of release, two versions of this joystick will be made available, one for the Sony PS3 and another for the Xbox 360. Pricing for this gadget has been set at ¥30,000 or $330US which means only the most hardcore of gamers will pick one of these up.
If the controller and button positions have a familiar look, it’s because they are fashioned after the control panel seen in the Vewlix arcade cabinet. These are the same cabinets that are used for the arcade game Street Fighter IV.
The controller does look huge and heavy and may not be well suited for resting on your lap during game play, but how many people can say they have an authentic looking game controller? If you’re outside of Japan and want this device, expect to pay even more for import/export charges just because of its size and weight.
