Here’s a cardboard chair design known as “Finish Your Self”. The design is that of eco-designer David Graas and can be bought for $89.
Order this geeky design and you’ll get a corrugated cardboard sheet upon which a chair outline can be seen. It’s then your job to cut the chair out from the surrounding cardboard packaging and slot the pieces together, hence “finish your self”.
The finished chair is quite small. However, with a bit of artwork, this would make a nice personalized kids chair. In fact, children may get a blast with helping parents with this simple construction project and who knows, once this is done, perhaps you move on to other cardboard furniture projects.
For his work, David Graas was nominated for the Dutch Design Awards 2007, category packaging. This chair is eco-friendly and 100% recyclable.

okayy, so i have a project to do for school. We have to make a card board chair and i would like to do your design, but it looks kinda hard. would you please send me some tips on how to do this design.
thanks for you time,
Katelynn.
Hi Katelynn
It’s not a chair that we’ve made, but is one that is actually for sale by a third party. Check out the hyperlink above which will take you to the designers site.
Although that link will take you to a sales page, you may get some more tips on creating your own chair at home.
Good luck with your project.
