When the Apple iPad came out and the hardware specifications on it revealed a display screen with 1024×768 pixel resolution, most thought that was pretty much expected and an industry standard. Today we learn about a new smartphone called the QCM-330 that has an even higher screen resolution.
The QCM-330 is a Taiwan-based Qisda (or BenQ) smartphone that is expected to be officially unveiled on March 2, 2010 when it debuts at the CeBIT Exhibition in Hannover, Germany. What we do know about the smartphone today is that it features a 4-inch display with 1280×1024 pixel resolution. When the Droid comes with 480×854 and the HD2 includes a 480×800 resolution, the Qisda is certainly above the mark.
Information about the Qisda mobile phone at this time is fairly minimal. In addition to the 4-inch screen, the 330 will also include a 3 megapixel digital camera as well as HSDPA and WiFi network support. Additionally, given the presence of a Home key on the front surface of the device does lend credence that this mobile phone will run on the Android operating system.
In Europe, Vodafone will be the official mobile carrier. Outside of that, more details on this interesting phone will emerge at next months CeBIT Global Conference.
