The global reach of the world wide web has meant that on occasion, there is the need for a translation service that can translate a website or piece of text into your spoken language. Google Translate is one of the more popular translation websites and today, the site has introduced some new features to improve their service.
First, Google Translate will now offer instant translation. All you need to do is select the starting and finish language and as you type your text, Google Translate will offer on the fly translation. This improvement is great and allows you to see right off the bat what the translation is, without the need for extra clicks. There is also a text to speech option if you happen to be translating words into the English language. In this case, enter your short word or phrase, click the speaker icon and you will hear the words recited.
Google Translate has also improved support for non-Roman languages such as Chinese by showing Chinese characters written phonetically in English. Support has also been included for Hindi, Persian and Arabic where users can translate from their native language to English without the need of a scripted keyboard.
With support for 51 different languages and Google continually improving the product, Translate does a pretty good job in opening up the web.
