Google has partnered with Virgin America by offering passengers access to free WiFi internet. The free service will apply to anyone flying on a Virgin America plane between November 10, 2009 and January 15, 2010. It’s a nice gesture, especially around the holiday season when air travel increases and people make plans to visit friends and family during the holidays.
Free internet will certainly be a bonus for long haul flights and will help to pass the time. Commercial airlines have gotten better as of late with personal viewing screens behind seats and better meals (surcharge applies), but access to the internet is sure to please a lot of people. Lets just hope that internet connections remain stable with more people trying to access the network at the same time.
