The potential reach of the Google Nexus One has grown today with the confirmation that Google has partnered with new mobile carriers both north and south of the border. Until now, the Google phone was available through T-Mobile but that has changed as Rogers in Canada and AT&T in the US have come on board.
Currently, both carriers will offer a SIM free smartphone, though there are discussions underway to introduce monthly service plans with a locked in contract. This of course will drop the price from the $529 currently announced for the SIM free phone.
With AT&T now carrying the Nexus One, it sets up an interesting rivalry as the mobile carrier also sells the Apple iPhone, one of Google’s biggest adversaries. If you are interested in ordering the phone, it is available through the Google website.
