Google Nexus 7 Seeing Strong Sales

Google Nexus 7 In Hand

With Google seeing the success that both Amazon and Apple have had with their respective tablets, it was imperative that Google respond with one of their own. But, this was only one side of the equation as the next major hurdle was how well would a Google tablet be received within the marketplace?

At the Google I/O conference, the search engine giant announced their Android powered Nexus 7 with pre-orders made shortly thereafter. We’re now starting to hear a little about the demand for this device and by most indications, demand has been good. Although the exact number of tablets behind this story have not been released, Reuters has reported that several outlets are showing that the Nexus 7 is sold out and in addition to this, pre-orders are being fulfilled on time.

Sam’s club has already confirmed through their website that they no longer have any more Nexus 7 tablets in stock and customers are asked to check back with them periodically. The same goes for Gamestop who simply “blew through” their first two batches of tablets that they had for sale. The fact that the device is selling out is always good news, it would just be nice to put some numbers behind these comments so that we can get a feeling of supply vs demand. However, it’s very likely that Google will put some hard numbers behind their tablet shortly.
