Google Music May Not Exactly Be The iTunes Or Bing Killer It’s Been Touted To Be

Google Music

Google recently unveiled the latest addition to their long list of life-changing services — Google Music. Now a search query containing a song title or artist’s name will net you a few links (a la the YouTube video results we’ve all gotten used to) that let you play the song(s) for free. Later on you can decide to buy the full song — pretty brilliant if you ask me.

Aside from making search a little more musical, Google Music also offers another avenue for musicians, both established and on-the-rise, to earn from their work. The potential is so massive that many have called Google Music to be the iTunes or Bing Killer.

Sorry, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Most people who use Google to look for music are those who don’t use iTunes in the first place. It seems Google’s only playing in the field it’s best at, and that’s search.

As of this writing, Google Music is only available over the U.S., but it’s very likely the feature will be rolled out to the other parts of the world in the near future.
