Apple iPhone owners may soon get their chance to try out Google Maps Navigation on their Apple device. The news comes by way of Steve Lee, a product manager for the the Google Maps for mobile team, who recently commented that “Google Maps is an application that has the most breadth on other platforms – Windows Mobile, iPhone, J2ME phones but Google Maps navigation requires higher capabilities.”
With a buzz in the air, you have to wonder just how Apple feels about this as Google and Apple have been at odds for some time now. I’m sure iPhone users would be pleased to get free Google Maps Navigation but Apple has also purchased their own mapping service in Placebook and there was talk that Apple would be exploring an in house mapping solution.
