As we approach the start of the busy holiday shopping season, a time when companies stand to make a considerable amount of revenue, we are seeing three major players in the technology world holding events during which we will see the launch of new products and devices.
To begin with, Apple will be holding one of these events and at this event, it’s widely believed that the Cupertino company will be launching their latest edition to the tablet family, the iPad mini. This new tablet is expected to be lower in price, smaller in size and one that will be able to compete with the cheaper Android tablets that are out there.
In addition to Apple, Microsoft will be holding their own events at which we will see the launch of both their Surface RT tablet as well as the Windows 8 operating system. Now comes word that there is a third company, namely Google who has sent out their own invitations for an October 29th event in New York City. Rumours are now swirling as to just what they have planned and the belief is that we will see new Nexus products which could include a new Nexus phone and possibly also a new Nexus tablet. In addition to this, Google could possibly announce an available upgrade to Android, version 4.2, with the new version introducing additional security features as well as other options.
