Google Labs has unveiled their latest development known as Google Fast Flip. The new service attempts to improve the overall experience of reading online news, making it more like traditional print publications.
Offline newspapers and magazines have always had one feature that could not be reproduced by the online media and that was the ability to thumb through pages of content to find articles of interest. With Google Fast Flip, this has now changed.
To introduce this service, Google has partnered with a number of publishers including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, Fast Company, Salon, ProPublica and Newsweek. The publications will offer up screenshots of articles. If an article looks interesting, click on it to zoom in. If it’s not appealing, simply click on the left or right arrow to browse more stories.
Fast Flip is also compatible with the iPhone, and Android-powered devices. You can preview the new service at Google Labs.
