There is no question that Google is serious about getting the Cr-48 Chrome notebooks into the hands of customers. It was only two days ago that both the Chrome operating system news and Cr-48 pilot program were revealed and now we’re already starting to hear about end users that have received delivery of a shiny new notebook on their doorsteps.
I think the fast shipment of these devices have caught many by surprise, especially for a company that is the size of Google who has said that there would be 60,000 units available and that applications for the Pilot Program would be accepted up until December 21st. Those that received the new notebooks seem to be caught off guard as well with one new owner, Ben Kessler tweeting:
Holy s***! A Google Chrome CR-48 just unexpectedly showed up at my door!”
The image that you see at the top of this post is of the Cr-48 that Kessler received and we can say that the device does look nice. There’s a few other reports from customers that have begun to circulate around the Internet. The comments cover such things as the simple packaging and the inclusion of an Intel business card which is said to be the processor that runs the device.
