On the desktop side, it’s become quite apparent that Google Chrome is one of the more popular Internet browsers available and one could infer that so long as the launch of Chrome on iOS was bug free, Chrome would enjoy the same kind of popularity.
It’s been 24 hours since Google launched Chrome for iOS and as to be expected, Chrome has become quite a popular free download from the App store. In fact, in the last 24 hours, Chrome has climbed its way to the top of the popularity list and is now the top free app within the app store. In reaching this lofty height, Chrome has edged out two free games which are Flow Free by Big Duck Games LLC and Escape Bear by Humble Gaming Ltd. Rounding out the top four free apps also includes Talking Ted by NBC Universal Inc.
In the day or so that Chrome has been available, there are now just about 4,000 reviews of the app and the overall rating earned is 4+. Many of the reviews are quite positive with some Apple fans ready to transition from Safari to Chrome as their primary mobile browser but there are also some negatives that have been cited. These include users that have seen Chrome freeze while others voice their concerns about limited options.
Have you had a chance to try Chrome for iOS? If so, let us know how the app responded for you.
