Gigabyte has announced the release of their latest netbook, the T1028x. The new netbook builds upon the earlier model, the T1028M and comes with a faster Intel processor (Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU) as well as a quicker front side bus.
The T1028x includes a high resolution touchscreen display that supports 1,366×768, which on the surface is great as it means more screen display to work with, but the gains achieved with this are countered somewhat by the loss in touchscreen accuracy.
Other features of the Gigabyte netbook are fairly typical of most consumer netbooks on the market and include 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, ExpressCard 34 slot and wireless network connectivity (WiFi b/g).
The Gigabyte netbook is quite a bit more expensive then it’s counterparts with a retail price of $700.
