It’s been a while since we last featured an alarm clock. Past alarm clock design inspirations on Coated have required the owner to complete all kinds of skill testing activities before the set alarm would turn off. For instance, with the bomb diffusion clock, you would of course have to disable the bomb or a loud alarm would sound. There was also Clocky, the crazy clock that would wheel itself away while ringing if you fail to turn it off on time.
Today we came across a clock that would bring out the competitive spirit within the basketball fan. The device is called the Basketball Hoop alarm clock and the premise is easy. Make the hoop and silence the morning wake up alarm.
It sounds pretty easy but try making this shot first thing in the morning after a good nights sleep. If you play fair and take the shot from the bed, there is the added pressure of missing the hoop and losing the ball, which means you’ll have to drag yourself out of bed in search of the basketball. In the end, I guess the alarm clock ultimately did it’s job and get you out of bed.
