When it comes to video conference calls on the Apple iPhone, it was widely believed that Apple would integrate this feature in their device or that Skype would enhance their free iPhone application to include this highly requested feature.
However, it turns out that the first offer of free video conference calling on an iPhone comes by way of the Israeli company called Fring. According to the official press release, Fring was quick to advise that one of the challenges with video conference calls on an iPhone is the digital camera is on one side of the device while the LCD display is on the other. What this means is the conference calls would be one way only. This is not so with Nokia Symbian S60 devices in which case, the Fring application offers true two way video chat. The Fring video calls are completed through Skype using your existing Internet connection (WiFi or 3G).
