Of the four point and shoot cameras, the SX210 IS appears to be the geared towards the advanced user and boasts a 14 megapixel resolution, 28mm equivalent wide angle lens with 14x digital zoom, 720p high definition video capture and a pop up flash. The SX210 IS is available in three color choices, black, gold and purple and will retail this March for $350.
Next on the list is the SD3500 IS. Similar to the SX210 IS, the SD3500 IS comes with 14MP resolution, 720p HD video capture and optical image stabilization. However, it does differ from its predecessor with the inclusion of a larger 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD and a 5x digital zoom (24mm-equivalent ultrawide-angle lens). The SD3500 IS will go on sale this month at $329.99.
Rounding out today’s announcement are the last two models which are more Canon’s entry level to mid range point and shoot cameras. The SD1400 IS includes a 14MP sensor, 720p HD video and a 4x 28mm wide angle lens. Available in black, silver, pink and orange, the SD1400 IS will sell for $249.99 this month.
Last on the list is the SD1300 IS which would be the entry level camera of the lot. This model only has a 12 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and only VGA movie mode (No HD recording available).
