Ford Allery Alert App Keeps Tab On Pollen Counts

The Ford Motor Company may be a company whose core business is cars, but their latest innovation shows that they are trying to create a vehicle “that cares”. When you consider just how much time drivers spend in the car, it seems like a logical extension to their brand.

Sync Voice Control functions in Ford cars that come with Sync AppLink. Through this service, in-car apps can be accessed using nothing more then voice commands. Recently, Ford confirmed the availability of a new app called Alergy Alert. As the name implies, this app will keep you on top of the most current news regarding pollen counts as well as the counts for other allergens. In addition, you will also receive specific regional information as it pertains to the flu and UV conditions in your area. There are many drivers that suffer from allergies and asthma and having detailed information allows them to make informed choice.

As the service works under voice control, a driver can keep his focus on the road ahead while reciting key words such as “pollen” to find out what allergens are in the air at this time. Other simple commands that can be utilized include “UV” which will provide information about the UV Index for the day or “Flu” which provides the current and upcoming Flu index. Users will also have the ability to obtain information about other geographical regions by simply reciting up to three zip codes for which they are interested.
