If you want to buy gold bars, you’d usually head to a local bank or financial institution to conduct your transaction, but in Boca Raton, Florida, you just have to go to the Town Center Mall where there is now a gold dispensing ATM machine that is ready for business. It’s located right next to the candy store near the food court.
The ATM machine is the property of Ex Oriente Lux AG which already has 15 similar automated teller machines located throughout the world in places like Abu Dhabi, Germany, Italy and Spain. This ATM machine is capable of dispensing both gold coins and bars up to a weight of 8 ounces and it uses real time gold prices that are updated every 10 minutes.
These Gold to go ATM machines first surfaced last year when gold prices began to skyrocket as consumers worried about the state of the world economy. They gained further popularity when euro zone nation’s debt expanded and the US economy shrank.
