If you’re a big fan of the Firefox browser, and there are so many reasons to be a big fan, you’ll want to circle June 17, 2008 on your calendar.
June 17th is the day that Firefox 3 finally comes out of beta and goes live to the public. Mozilla is certainly trying to spread the word regarding this date as their hope is to obtain enough downloads in the first 24 hours so that they can enter into the Guinness Book of World Records. If they did achieve the record, it would be a quite an accomplishment and would show their strong presence in the browser marketplace. This would open the eyes of competitors such as Microsoft who continue to see Firefox erode at their market share.
One of the great advantages that Firefox has over Microsoft is all the plugins that have been developed. If Firefox does not have a specific feature that you are after, you only have to look to the plugins to see if someone has created the additional functionality you require.
