It’s not uncommon to see a video game be released and an accompanying book either in paperback format or more likely digital format be included. However, in the case of the upcoming Fable Novel, the reverse appears to be true as it will include an unlock code for a special weapon in Fable 3.

According to the Amazon website, the book Fable: The Balverine Order will go on sale on October 5th. It’s priced at $9.99 which is fairly reasonable to begin with, but if you want further incentive to buy the book, there is a small excerpt on the front cover that confirms that it “includes code to unlock unique weapon in Fable 3″. There’s no indication as to what this weapon will be and how powerful it will be but if you’ve read the book, you’ll have a leg up on those that haven’t. The book itself has been written by Peter David, a novelist who has been involved in a number of popular comic book series including Aquaman and The Incredible Hulk.

The game Fable 3 will launch on October 26th, or 21 days after the book goes on sale.
