Etch A Sketch, which is a popular kids game that is probably burned into the minds of many is getting a face lift. The two control knobs that allow you to move in the x-axis and y-axis direction are being replaced by a single knob that has a 360-degree range of motion.
Modernity is great, but Etch A Sketch in it’s original format was a classic kids toy. You knew it was next to impossible to draw a perfect circle with the device, yet that was something every kid aspired to accomplish. With the new freestyle version, this challenge is gone. I suppose this new device will allow kids to draw better pictures but then again, if that’s the goal, why not sit them down with a copy of Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom tablet or a copy of PhotoSketch which makes virtually everyone into an online artist.
