If you’ve seen those late night infomercials, you’ve seen that body toning and weight loss are two of the more lucrative niches for those infomercials. Within this niche, it seems that the infomercials cater to two different groups of people. You’ve got products such as P90X that cater to the crowd that is interested in working out but then you’ve also got gadgets that you strap around your waist, plug into the wall and miraculously through a series of impulses to your abdominal muscles, you’ll see muscle toning even while you’re watching TV.
The EMS (Electrical Muscle Simulation) Muscle Mouse seems to fall into the latter category. This device functions as a regular mouse, but it has a unique function. This mouse comes with tape pads that you attach to your body. The mouse draws power through the USB connection and sends EMS pulses to specific muscle groups, thereby toning them up. The strength of the EMS pulses can be regulated by a series of buttons that are located on the side of the mouse.
Obviously, I question the practicality of this mouse, especially in an office environment. Instead of using this type of mouse, why not just make simple lifestyle changes….take the stairs, drink water instead of a soda. Simple changes that will make a world of difference to your body image.
