DVR Cam Ball

For the budding detective, the cam ball looks to be one of the smaller, more inconspicuous DVRs available. Round in shape and almost the width of a couple of coins, this recorder will capture lots of unique and interesting surveillance footage of it’s surroundings.

This tiny digital video recorder has the ability to capture MPEG-4 video in 320×240 or 640×480 resolution. 8 GB worth of data can be recorded on an SD card which is sold separately. As to how many minutes or hours of footage can be recorded, I’m not sure, but of course, this would depend upon the resolution of the captured video.

At this time, the Cam Ball is only available in Korea for the price of $200. In time, I’m sure it will make it’s way to the world markets. There are a number of accessories also available for the Cam Ball, one of them being a waterproof case which allows you to take underwater video on your next snorkeling trip (or underwater surveillance expedition if you want to be more cloak and dagger).

The Cam Ball also comes in another version that includes an MP3 player.

I just bought the Cam ball today and was shocked to see how small it is. And the video seems to be a pretty good quality. Not as great as some camcorders but its better than the $400 security camera that I got with a 6 inch long power cord and it had claimed to be wireless!!!!! Now THIS is wireless!!

I bought the camball as well about a month ago and I am trying to use it as a security camera in my car while the car is off. I have had some problems getting it to record for me in the motion sensor mode for longer than 3 hours.
