Dragon Dictation Speech To Text

Texting has become much, much quicker recently with the addition speech-to-text technology in higher-end mobiles and smartphones. But if you have an iPhone, you can simply get the Dragon Dictation App from the App Store. It’s free for a limited time, and offers some pretty good functionality for something that doesn’t cost a thing.

Using the Dragon Dictation App is pretty straightforward — you open the App, press “Record,” and speak into the iPhone. Afterwards the App provides you a text version of the words or sentences you just said, along with the options to either e-mail, text, or copy to clipboard. Even faster than typing on the onscreen keyboard if you ask me.

Of course, there’s a few drawbacks to the App — first of all, it won’t be free forever. Second, it self-censors — so any swear words get translated as ***’s. Suppose it’s better to hold back the potty mouth if you want this App to save you some time.

Those aside, the App should be pretty helpful and worth a try. Get it while it’s free!

Wow, I am both a heavy iphone user and a Dragonmn user, this is great and about time.

I have been using this really neat new AP called “lightning Remarks” that allows within 2-3 keystrokes to create or reply to email or texts where there are 1000’s of predefined remarks, based on over 100 categories that are intuitive to find. It allows you to have a typical 2-3 sentence remark in 2-3 keystrokes. This has sped me up 5-10X on keyboard use.

With both these tools, I am sure be even faster.. Thanks Dragon Systems

I’ll just call them, that’s even faster. Rubes!
