This digital scarecrow may one day appear on future farms as a means of protecting agricultural crops from unwanted bird and animal predation.
Unlike the movie scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, this one has a bit of brains behind it.
The vision behind this scarecrow is that it’s infrared ray sensor eye would detect oncoming animals and at that point activate an ultrasonic wave. The non lethal wave would not harm the animals in any way but would be strong enough to encourage them to move away from the site.
Another feature of the scarecrow is solar panels on it’s arms that would ensure that this unit remains powered up.
