The digital door viewer is the modern peephole and consists of an outdoor security camera and a large indoor digital display by which you can monitor who is at the door.
Installation of this security gadget is said to be quite easy and requires the mounting of a small video camera above the entry door using a common handheld drill while the LCD panel is attached inside the home using self-tapping screws.
The unit runs on 8 standard AA batteries and requires no external wiring or additional connections. The unit is able to improve battery life by turning itself on only when the operator presses the power button to see who is at the door. According to the vendor’s estimates, a typical “viewing cycle” lasts about 5 seconds and this gadget should function for 1000 viewing cycles before the batteries need to be replaced.
