Dell has introduced their new notebook, the Vostro V13. Their latest laptop keeps the trend of being a highly portable laptop as it measures just 0.65-inches thin and weighs 3.5 pounds. The notebook is reminiscent of the Dell Adamo, but starting at $450 (with Ubuntu 9.04 OS), it’s just a fraction of the price.
The V13 features a brushed aluminum chassis and comes with a 13.3-inch screen display as well as a choice of processors (1.4GHz Core 2 Solo, 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo, or 1.2GHz Celeron). The unit also comes with a single RAM slot that can support up to 4GB of memory.
It’s nice to see the discounted price for a slick notebook. Those that prefer a Windows 7 notebook over a Linux based one are not left in the dark either as Dell does offer an optional upgrade to the Windows OS. This however will bring the base price up to $599 but does come with a few other nice to haves.
Orders for the Dell Vostro V13 notebook are currently being taken, but the shipping date is scheduled for January 12th, just over a month away.
