Intel had just recently announced the Atom, its next-generation platform, and before most of the newsreels could bring the good news to the world, Dell came out with its own press release — announcing a new lineup of their Mini 10 netbooks, this time sporting the new Atom N450 CPU. Well, that was fast.
The Mini 10 is already a fairly successful line of products, but the refreshed lineup offers a few nifty upgrades — sculpted keys, smudge-resistant palm rests, 9.5 hours of battery life, and a much broader range of colors and designs to choose from.
The specs include 1GB of RAM, 160GB or 250GB of internal memory, a 10.1-inch display that’s either standard or HD, and a choice between Ubuntu, Windows XP Home, or Windows 7 Starter Edition. So it’s pretty easy to mix and match with this set of netbooks.
The new Mini 10 netbooks will be out early January, and if you’re planning to get one, get ready to shell out a cool $299 for one.
