After some delays in launching the Dell Streak, it would appear that Dell has finally gotten the ball rolling with the Streak confirmed as going on sale starting August 13th. At the time of launch, this Android tablet will have an older version of Google Android OS, running version 1.6, but lets hope that an update will be available shortly after launch so as to enable the 720p video capture that is available with Android 2.1.
If you’re looking to buy this device, AT&T will offer the standard options. First is contract free, which will cost you $549.99. If you are looking for something a bit cheaper, signing a locked in 2-year contract will make this tablet available for $299.99. Those that have already registered for the pre-sale will be able to buy the Dell Streak a day in advance of the general public.
