The Inspiron 17 is the latest desktop notebook announced by Dell today. The new notebook features a 16:9 aspect ratio, includes LED backlighting and is thin, similar to other Inspiron laptops.
What’s different about the Inspiron 17 is that it comes with a higher screen resolution (1600×900) and includes a faster Intel processor that is scalable up to 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo.
If you’re in search for a cheap notebook, the base price for the Inspiron 17 starts at $499 but of course you will be sacrificing on features as the base notebook comes with a 2GHz Pentium dual-core Intel Processor, 160GB HDD and 2GB of RAM. Vista Home Basic is the Windows operating system that is included.
From the base model, optional features available include a Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card, RAM upgrades (up to 4GB), hard drive upgrades (up to 500GB), a Blu-ray player and an OS upgrade to Windows Vista premium
Orders for the new laptops are currently being taken with shipment to begin in August.
