In The Geek World, ColorWare is well known for adding a touch of individuality to your collection of gadgets and gizmos. They do this through custom paint jobs that they offer for select devices. In the past, they have worked with such items as the PS3 Slim and the BlackBerry Bold 9700.
They are back at it, offering to turn their art palette towards your Google Nexus One. There are two offerings available. First is that you send them your Google phone along with $195 and you’ll get your phone back three weeks later all decked out in your customized colors. The second option is to buy an unlocked Google phone through ColorWare which includes the custom paint job. Price for this option is $810.
In terms of work done, there are four areas of the Google smartphone that lend itself to customization. These areas are the back, bottom, frame as well as the area surrounding the camera lens itself. Along with the payment, you will need to tell ColorWare your preferred colors for your new decked out phone and you can select between 21 metallic colors, 21 solid colors and 4 pearl colors and if this isn’t enough of a color selection, there is even the opportunity to have a custom color used. In addition to color choice, two finishing options are available, a gloss finish or soft touch finish.
