All Fortune 500 companies are heavily involved in brand management and one way to maintain the reputation of a corporation is go after cheap knockoffs, clones, and counterfeit products. The latest in fake goods comes by way of the MyTough 3G which has been designed to look like the MyTouch 3G.
There’s always subtle differences between the original and the counterfeit product, but a glaring difference in this case is MyTouch is a Google Android powered HTC phone while its clone is a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone.
The cloned phone also comes with GPS, WiFi and bluetooth. MyTough also is bold enough to throw in a pair of earbuds that are an Apple clone. The phone sells for $288 which seems a little expensive for a clone that probably comes with low quality parts and no warranty service.
