Cisco Security Application

Cisco’s latest iPhone App isn’t really geared for the rest of us, but Internet security experts and IT managers will love it. The App lets users protect their devices and company information from attacks. Perhaps the most important offering this App has is its ability to check a site or server’s “reputation” — that is, whether or not it’s been attacked by a virus over the past 24 hours.

The program will also let users access security news feeds, Cisco’s security blog, a Cisco Risk Report, Twitter feeds, and other information that could help secure their websites from wandering threats on the Internet.

The program uses Cisco’s e-mail monitoring technology, as well as other information-gathering options to check a site’s “reputation.” It also displays the kinds and amounts of traffic a site gets, as well as any potential malware its server might be distributing.

Cisco’s iPhone App is rather easy to use, and comes at a great price — it’s free.
