Japanese brewery Sapporo Holdings announced that they intend to make the first space beer using a third generation barley that spent five months on board the International Space Station. The thought behind this project is down the road, as man spends more time in space, there will be a need to make a home like atmosphere as who knows, an astronaut may come back from work, put his feet up and drink a cold beer.
Are people in Kuala Lumpur seeing a vision? A ghost? A spirit? Nope, it’s a holographic image of Mr. Bill Gates himself as he makes a virtual presence at the World Congress on Information Technology 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.
Hailed as the first ever holographic image of Bill Gates anywhere in the world, this 4.6m high definition projection of Mr. Gates was hailed with cheer. The broadcast was actually prerecorded two weeks earlier in Seattle Washington and focussed on growing technological opportunities in the developing world.
When I see this holographic image of Bill Gates, I can’t help but think of another very famous holographic projection, namely that of Princess Leia through R2D2.
Help me Bill Gates…errr Obi-Wan, you’re my only hope.
