The Braille Polaroid Camera is a concept design that was bestowed the red dot award of “design concept 2008″. The design is that of Son Seunghee, Lee Sukyung and Kim Hyunsoo. The objective of the design is to offer those with a visual impairment an opportunity to feel more connected with their environment.

Their concept design draws on Polaroid technology, snap and the picture prints while you wait. The only difference is that this Polaroid camera prints the pictures in braille.

It can thus produce a record of one’s environment, and perhaps, a greater sense of attachment to the world. With the Braille Polaroid Camera, the blind can now feel objects that they are unable to see and are also able to collect images in albums.
