BioWare Announces Dragon Age II

Get ready for Dragon Age 2 as the Canadian company BioWare has confirmed that the console role playing game is coming in March 2011. Upon release, it will be available for the PC, Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360.

The sequel takes a different approach to this franchise. Whereas the 2009 original game, Dragon Age: Origins allowed gamers to go through the storyline from the perspective of one of several different player characters, the sequel will have you going through the game in the role of Hawke as he becomes a more prominent figure within Ferelden.

In Drageon Age II, Hawke can be played as either a male or female character, in much the same way as Commander Shepard in Mass Effect. A media blitz is coming next month when we’ll get some early screenshots of the game amongst other things.
