O2 has made Android 2.1 available for the Dell Streak and since the push of the new OS, user complaints have begun streaming it detailing a number of different problems that have been seen since the upgrade.

Some of the challenges that have been found include a loss of functionality through the removal of features like the Facebook widget, PC synchronization, and Windows Media Video playback. For other users, for whom the upgrade seems to have gone well on the surface have noted that they have lost applications and personal data and to compound the issue, data restores do not seem to be working well either.

For now, Android 2.1 has been put on hold but even when it goes live again, there may be some value in waiting a while if you can, just to ensure that all the bugs are out. Keep an eye out on the Dell Forums for the latest on this software upgrade.
