Best Buy Website Removes Feb. 18th Milestone Reference

There has been a lot of Canadian interest in the Motorola Milestone and its availability through Best Buy. Just two days ago, we received word that the consumer electronics retailer Best Buy was taking pre-orders on the Motorola Milestone and that an in-store deposit of $50 would guarantee that you would be one of the first to own the smartphone without limits when it officially launches on February 18th.

A quick check on the Best Buy website does indicate that the Motorola smartphone is still on the way and that pre-orders are also being taken like before. However, what is notably missing is the reference to the February 18th launch date. What exactly this means is up for speculation?

Could it be that Best Buy jumped the gun and prematurely announced the launch date without the blessing of Telus Mobility who promptly asked that the date reference be removed or could it mean that the Moto launch has been delayed?

We’d like to think it is the former and that the February 18th date still applies for this Android device. After all, who likes delays and then we’ve got to ask, why the delay?

We’ll keep an eye on this story and advise if there are any more changes.
