Apparently, Bentley has plans to replace the Arnage with an entirely new luxury sedan as its flagship. Bentley recently unveiled the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne at the 59th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Judging from the raves, it seems the automotive world likes what they see so far.
The Mulsanne has been described to have a more powerful emotional presence than its luxury sedan counterparts from Rolls Royce and Maybach. It sports prominent hips at the rear, and the strong creases in the body define its powerful simplicity. What’s interesting is that there aren’t any visible body seams, almost as if the whole sedan was carved out of a single block of metal.
The Mulsanne doesn’t detract too much from its predecessors – it still proudly sports the large round headlights that have been a hallmark of the Bentley luxury sedans for almost a century. The interiors were also pretty impressive, described as chrome-accented dials and switchgear laying among handsome layers of wood.
Of course, that’s just judging from what the insides looked through the mirror. The car’s doors and hood were locked at the car show, which means we’ll be waiting another month till the Frankfurt Motor Show when the Mulsanne shows what it’s really made of.
