Shuttle has added a new all in one (aio) pc to their lineup in the XPC X50V2. The new AIO is an upgrade of an earlier model, namely the XPC X50.
As a barebones computer, you will be given the responsibility of adding a hard drive and RAM which some may find attractive as you can customize the box to your personal needs. The maximum supported RAM configuration is 4GB and the AIO can accept either a 2.5-inch HDD (hard disk drive) or a SSD (solid state drive). What the shuttle XPC X50V2 does includes is an Intel Atom D510 Pine Trail CPU that replaces the Intel Atom 330 that was found in its predecessor.
Additionally, the AIO includes integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics and the 15.6-inch touchscreen display is capable of supporting 1366×768 pixel resolution. The unit also has a green element to its design as it is passively cooled which means that it is fanless and hence no noisy fans prone to mechanical failure, but also that it reduces power consumption by up to 50%.
Rounding out the features is the inclusion of 4 USB 2.0 ports, 10/100 wired Ethernet port, audio in/out and an internal mini PCIe slot that is designed for a WiFi card.
The Shuttle XPC X50V2 AIO PC will be available in either black or white and comes with a $484 price tag.
