For the bargin basement price of only $89,000, you can own this shiny, almost new, automated toilet. The city of Seattle Washington spent $5 million dollars on it’s 5 automated public toilets, but are now trying to cut it’s losses by placing them up for auction on Ebay.
These toilets were to be the mother of all public restrooms, having the ability of automatically clean themselves using detergent and water that would scrub all the interior surfaces.
In an ideal test lab situation, I’m sure that these automated toilets worked as designed. Out on the mean streets of Seattle, things were a little different. Drug users and prostitutes enjoyed the 20 minute auto locking doors and the amount of debris that was thrown over the ground caused the drainage to clog.
